Evolve: an uproarious journey through the book of Genesis in words and images

How Holocaust memory has been hijacked

Ruth Deech

Room 1

The newest memorial in Westminster is a political project that will enable Israel haters to pose as non-racists, cast British democracy as salvation, respect dead Jews but fail to teach about the living, and will have nothing to say about Israel. There are over 300 Holocaust memorials around the world and antisemitism continues to rise – why?

Midrashirt/T-midrash: Can Torah be studied from t-shirt?

Dana Pulver

The clothes we wear are a check point on a border between personal and public. It can be also a meeting point - for the individual and the world, local and global, Jewish culture and mass culture... In her project, 'Dresstelling - Clothes that tell a story', Dana explores this relationship on real garments and from various perspectives. Feel free to join!

Yad Vashem UK has just celebrated its 1000th twin in their Bar/Bat Mitzvah Twinning programme; a remarkable achievement in just ten years. By linking a young person with a victim of the Shoah (Holocaust), they become a friend for life, enabling the victim to become part of the family. The session will show Limmud families how to get involved.

What is the climate crisis, and what can World Jewish Relief do about it?

Laura Hendy

Room 8

A brief introduction to the climate crisis, to World Jewish Relief's work and how it has evolved over time, and to how the two are interconnected. The session will also include an overview of our upcoming climate resilience programmes. Questions from the audience are very welcome!
