We have all been moved by Walt Disney's film, 'Bambi'. However, this is not the original story. The film is based on a book from 1923 by Felix Salten, a Viennese-Jewish writer. The book is seen as an allegory of the rise in antisemitism after World War I, and was burnt by the Nazis. This session will discuss the context, the book and its (possible) meanings.
