'How Rich They Are': the life story of Yehuda Amichai

In this performance piece, David tells the life story of Israel's much loved poet Yehuda Amichai through the words of Amichai's poems with additional songs written by David for this performance. Hear the rich tapestry of life in the new state of Israel unfold through Amichai's beautiful and often poignant words.

An introduction to trans inclusion

Many people want to begin making the spaces they are in more inclusive of transgender people, but are unsure how to do so, and worry about ‘getting it wrong’. In this training session, we will provide a non-judgemental space for people to ask questions, learn about trans identities, and how to best support trans people.

This is a snapshot of Simone's life in broadcasting - first at the BBC, then The Jewish Programme at Spectrum Radio, and finally, where she still works, on the news team of Radio Jackie. She will share stories of the many famous people she has interviewed, including royalty, and some of the funny incidents that have occurred during her career.

Five Torah intros, one rabbi

The 19th century rabbi Naftali Zvi Yehuda Berlin wrote intros to each of the five books of the Torah. They are fascinating in their depth of insight, ranging from a love of humanity to human psychology. Together, we will pick out the major themes of each one and hope to paint the rabbi’s picture of the Torah.

Israeli art in 2023 - before and after October 7th

In this session we'll briefly explore the role of art during the protests of 2023 and then look at the art world as it is after October 7th. Can art respond so quickly? What can art tell us about the current reality that we don't necessarily see in the news? We'll explore art responses, exhibitions and art works that are both praised and challenged to allow a different look at what we're experiencing these days.

The Niddah salon will be a space in which our stories about menstruation come into dialogue with rabbinic rulings around colours of period blood and their significance. We will use both of these 'texts' as a jumping-off point for playful exploration using pastels.

The Jews, London docks, plus City Airport

The Royal Docks opened in 1855 and closed in 1981. It was the gateway to London for East European Jews escaping pogroms. Most landed in the Tower Bridge area, finishing in nearby Whitechapel. Canary Wharf was developed by the Canadian, Paul Reichmann, who placed a mezuzah on the main entrance. Malcom Ginsberg will use the opportunity to update the latest fight situation at Ben Gurion, Tel Aviv International Airport.
