Deuteronomy and the environment

Rona Matlow

Red 2

There are many prophecies and mitzvot (commandments) in Deuteronomy that, when read with a modern lens, can be shown as predictive of climate change. In this workshop we will explore these verses, explore how to bring them from the realm of theodicy to the realm of climate change, and how we can use this as a model for being better global citizens.

How are Jewish leaders portrayed in the Tanach (Bible) and other (non-religious) literary sources? A text-based study where your opinion is welcomed.
