We'll explore the little-known apocryphal Book of Judith, some later spin-off texts and pictures by a woman artist of the Renaissance, meeting some remarkable women who break rules, juggle birth and death, and bring salvation. Like their Biblical sisters Yael and Esther, they get away with murder, providing some unexpected role models.

Democracy is founded on our ability to see a shared reality and make decisions accordingly. The media's foundational role is to mediate this reality. However, in recent decades the media has veered away from this role due to new economic and technological pressures. We'll discuss how and why this happens, and what we can do about it.

Time governs so much of Jewish life: when to pray, how long to wait between meat and dairy, how long it takes for bread to leaven. The thing is, precise timekeeping is very new, whereas Judaism precedes the very concept of hours. We'll look at how timekeeping technologies entered Jewish thought over thousands of years.

Moral injury describes intense distress that can occur when an individual engages in, fails to prevent, or witnesses acts that conflict with their values or beliefs, or when they experience betrayal. This session explores how moral injury is currently impacting on different groups in Israel and will discuss ways of supporting affected individuals.

This lively talk will be presented with photographs from Daniel's family archive and extracts from the book.
