Shira Solomons

Religious education in mainstream schools is the most important opportunity to teach children about Judaism in the UK, pre-empting antisemitism. A recent move to “problematise” religion, inserting a “critical” approach into primary and secondary level "Worldviews" RE syllabuses should worry every Limmudnik, of every stripe. How should we respond?

The *Other* October 7

Noah Efron

Orange 13

October 7 was two things. One was the deadliest attack on Jews in 80 years, sparking Israel’s longest and hardest war. The other was a spontaneous wave of mutual aid and solidarity. Our focus has been mostly on the first, but it’s the second that matters more. This session is about that—why and how it happened and what it means.
