On May 14th 1948 Israel declared its independence after the UN vote for partition. The following day the new state was invaded by the armies of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq seeking its destruction. Archive footage is shown of how the young soldiers of the IDF overcame its multiple enemies to secure the state of Israel.
