3-Minute Jewish Thesis: Share Your Thought (2 of 2)

In this fast-paced session, participants, individually or in teams, will present a thought, idea, or theory on a Jewish topic in just 3 minutes. The aim is to share something meaningful concisely and impactfully. Afterward, there will be time for discussion and feedback. Preparing a pitch or slide in advance is recommended but not mandatory.

Child Sacrifice in the Torah – Yiftach’s Daughter

In the Book of Judges we learn that Yiftah sacrifices his daughter to God. The story itself is ambiguous and ethically problematic. We’ll look closely at the text (mostly in English), at other Biblical parallels, similar stories in Western mythology and some visual art.
