I shall be introducing excerpts from the music of 20th century Jewish composers, together with snippets of biographical information. Most, if not all of these personalities had their family roots in Middle or Eastern Europe. A number of them were forced to quit their homeland through political upheavel.

This illustrated talk discusses and contextualises Glazer’s approach, surveying a few other broadcast, written or filmed examples that appear to assimilate, appropriate or marginalise the Jewish tragedy, almost as if eliminating the victims for a second time.
