Remarkably, it remains the primary written language for Chassidic men today. This session explores how it is taught, how it interacts with spoken Yiddish, and its role in shaping gender and class divisions.

The transition between worlds created a unique Jewish cultural philosophy. Ayala will share her journey and also delve into other figures from Jewish thought who underwent similar transformations: Elisha ben Avuya from the Talmud, pioneer Ḥayyuta Bussel, and Bialik the poet. We will discuss the culture that emerges from the blending of worlds.
