What does passing mean? What is survival really about? How do the lives of 15 women disrupt our understanding of the Holocaust? Through 15 lives the concept of victim is shattered. A lecture that explores what survival means and how our simplification of the Holocaust has left these women out of history.

An exploration of how the collision of Black and Jewish communities has been portrayed in cinema and what it reveals about race and minority identity. From Uncut Gems and BlacKkKlansman to Homicide and The Pawnbroker - and maybe a dip in to James Baldwin - we’ll explore the tension, friendship, mistrust and solidarity between these two groups.

Is the BBC really biased? In this session we will be examining who writes certain articles, in what context and what they are missing. We will look at the reporting on Gaza by the BBC, The Telegraph, The Guardian and The New York Times. We will then see how these portrayals impact Jews today and explore Jewish responses to misrepresentation.

In this talk, Samuel Goldstone-Brady will breakdown the musical universe of Vulf, explore musician Jack Stratton’s Jewishness, and consider what it means to be a Jewish band. This talk will feature clips from Vulfpeck tracks and related projects.

This introductory session for absolute beginners explores Afro-Latin dance basics, body mechanics, music and rhythm, and dance partner dynamics. Learn basic merengue and salsa moves, understand the cultural roots and gender expression of the dance, discover how history, music and movement come together in Latin social dance.
