Does Judaism have a race problem? A 'Who Jew think you are?' conversation

Eylan Ezekiel

Red 3

The Board of Deputies’ own report said yes — and so have many guests on the 'Who Jew think you are?' podcast. So why is it still so hard to talk about racism in Jewish spaces? This session invites honest, respectful debate about power, identity, and who gets to feel they truly belong.

Festival politics

Ian Rowen

Orange 11

Dancers at the Nova gathering were among the first victims of the October 7th Hamas attacks, shaking both Israeli and global society. This talk examines how transnational festival cultures have since become political battlegrounds – and spaces of healing.

Find Your Chutzpah!

Janine Stein  Yehudis Fletcher

Orange 13

In ancient discourse and as contemporary resistance, chutzpah is the special sauce that makes difficult situations slightly easier to navigate. This session weaves together Talmudic tales with a modern memoir, which we think is quite a chutzpahdig thing to do.

Murder on the high seas - when should we speak up for our principles?

Gideon Sylvester

Orange 15

A rabbi witnesses a murder on a ship. Should he risk confronting the murderer or stay silent? This Talmudic debate and its commentaries explore praising powerful people we despise and asks whether Judaism demands taking risks to stand up for what we believe - whether at sea, in the office or facing antisemitism.

Round writing

Mayta Cohen

Red 5

Rounds are a hidden gem of Jewish music! In this workshop, we will write our own round together, exploring how it can be a tool for connection, stalling and creating communal harmony quickly. Great for anyone looking to bring this device to their community, learn some new harmony-filled Jewish repertoire, or take a break and be silly for an hour!

The 1000-year-old Jewish story revealed beneath the Barbican

Gaby Morris  Howard Morris

The earliest societies of the land of Israel

Steve Miller

Yellow 21

We may never know for sure whether Israelites ever occupied what we now know as the Land of Israel before the monarchies of Israel and Judah… but someone did. We will explore the archaeological evidence for settlements from about 300,000 BCE to about 1200 BCE. The Bible might make an appearance, but this is not about ‘proving’ Biblical veracity.

Visiting Refuseniks in the 1980s

Robin Lansman

Orange 12

Once you said you wanted to leave, that was it... you lost your job and more. The Soviet Union was a hard place to be and had always intrigued me. As a student osteopath I attended a seminar presented by the 35s campaign for soviet Jewry. That was enough to make me sign up. The trip was something I have never forgotten, down to the last details.
