The Torah of Argument: Between War and Love

We live in the midst of wars of words. Often it feels like these verbal conflicts are animated by hate - is there a way for passionate conflict to be an expression of love? We will study an essay by Rabbi Yitzhak Hutner (Pahad Yitzhak) that sees Torah as a pathway towards argument for the sake of love.

Good and bad birthing stories, bleeding painfully in perimenopause and finding the perfect bra - these are just some of the body struggles Jewish women have recorded in their comics. Through visual analysis and practical drawing exercises, this workshop will introduce you to finding a visual language that suits your own body story. All welcome!

Yiddish electronic: a deep listening session

At the dawn of the recorded age, ethnographers captured Yiddish folksongs on scratchy wax cylinders. These songs told of magical rivers, spirits and visions. In this performance, Chaia blends these archival recordings with gentle electronics, inviting listeners to close their eyes and drift into the mystical world of ancestral memory.
