In this session Amitai wants to talk about the ethics of making Jewish art for a non-Jewish audience. From Shylock to Roth to Mrs Maisel, does it matter how we present ourselves?

Between 1860 and 1914, hundreds of Middle Eastern Jews settled in the U.K. When World War I broke out, they were labelled enemy aliens, interned, or deported, their successive applications for naturalisation denied. Recently declassified documents shed light on their strategies to become British subjects and create new lives in the West.

We will do some stretching, some yoga postures, a breathing exercise and a guided relaxation. Using the breath to bring us into the present moment, we will enjoy being in our bodies, and moving them elegantly. We will also enjoy the quiet spaces between. A reasonable level of fitness required.

Is it possible to move from division to diversity and inclusion in communities ruptured by disagreements? We will explore this with European Limmudniks from Serbia, Bulgaria and Spain.
