We will look at a few Hebrew roots to show you how Hebrew works so logically and relatively easily. The inspiration for this session comes partly from an interesting book bought at Limmud last year.

We will see their invitation to hold onto dreams amidst pain.

However, there are hidden textual details that once uncovered dramatically change the story. A close reading of Genesis will finally reveal the painful, and very human, origin of the Jewish people.

The poet and playwright Sholem Aleichem, was an active member of Hovevei Zion and became a fervent supporter of Herzl's political Zionism. He attended the Zionist Congresses, wrote about Herzl and corresponded with him. In this session we will discuss Sholem Aleichem's attitude to Herzl and political Zionism.
