Fighting antisemitism: Challenges of responding to a mutating threat both online and offline

In recent years, the shape and impact of antisemitism have significantly changed: Jewish communities and individuals are faced with new forms of antisemitism. The World Jewish Congress continuously develops responses to prevent, condemn and fight antisemitism both online and offline. This session will outline current trends and discuss tactics of combatting.

Jewish identity, sexuality and memory in the works of Andre Aciman

An introduction to, and close reading of, Aciman's novels, understanding the incompetent narrator, memory and lies in the construction of identity. Love, infatuation and deceit will be experienced through the exploration of sexual identity, Jewish brotherhood, and Jewish guilt. Love, lies, and the loss of innocence.

Mikveh as a tool for spiritual renewal

The mikveh is an ancient Jewish ritual. We will examine what gives a mikveh its special spiritual status and learn a Biblical source text to examine the spiritual components contained within. Will we then address how we can bring the tradition of mikveh into our lives, as a spiritual and relationship practice.

Taking care of our own well-being, growth, and self-actualisation is at the foundations of Jewish life. We speak of charity, kindness, social action and tikun olam all the time in Judaism. We speak of God and commandments. But the self must be our highest priority. In this talk we will explore Jewish teachings and approaches to this concept.

In the final part of this three-part series, we will look at how radical the Song of Songs is - what it has to say about the relationship between the town and countryside, rich and poor, and men and women. Finally, we will ask ourselves if there's anything more we can say about the real hero of the Song of Songs – the person who wrote it.

Tour of Jaffa with System Ali

New Israel Find (NIF) Israel's Adi Tufik leads you on a tour of Jaffa with multilingual hip hop band System Ali and musician and actor Neta Weiner. The tour guides us through the history of the city. After the film, the NIF UK's Atira Winchester will lead a discussion on the issues of dialogue and co-existence raised in the short documentary.
