Reducing the carbon footprint of your home

Adrian Sieff

Room 4

Our homes are responsible for 20% of the UK’s carbon emissions. How can we reduce this? We will consider going one step further on our journey to decarbonise our homes: heating and insulation; the materials and appliances we use; how to breathe in an air tight building - and the difference between our ASHPs, MVHRs and EnerPHits and PIRs etc.

What are Jews for? The idea of Jewish purpose from the Bible to the present

Adam Sutcliffe

Room 3

What is the purpose of Jews in the world? In this session, we will explore the long history of the idea of Jewish purpose, drawing on the arguments presented in Adam's recent book, 'What Are Jews For? History, Peoplehood and Purpose' (2020). We will focus our discussion on four brief texts: from Exodus, Isaiah, Claude Montefiore and Franz Rosenzweig.

Room 2

This session will introduce 'What Would Love Do Now?', a poem by Julie Barnes, which has been developed into a song cycle and video in collaboration with Judith Silver and Cliff Braverman.
