Ze'ev Portner will analyse Farrakhan's influence on Black-Jewish relations in the United States, the United Kingdom and will discuss how Black-Jewish relations can move on post Farrakhan.

Singing is a vital part of our synagogue services, and can be very moving. We will sing a cappella, and in three or four parts (SATB or SAB). Some sight-reading and musical ability will be needed. We will be looking at some exciting versions of selected sung prayers.

What was missing from his leadership? We will explore Talmudic stories that will touch on contemporary issues of what we need from those who lead us.

This session explores the Jewish cemeteries of Gold Rush-era San Francisco, how they emerged into the frenetic world of the Gold Rush, and their part in the story of how modern urban capitalism emerged.
