Marie van der Zyl was elected President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews in May 2018, having become a Deputy in 2012 and elected Vice President in 2015. She has played a crucial part in the fight against antisemitism in Labour, on the far right and elsewhere, and represents the UK’s Jewish community on the world stage. In her professional life, Marie is a Solicitor specialising in employment law.
