Aged 18, Barry Radivan went to Israel on Hachshara (Bnei Akiva gap-year scheme). On his return to the UK he studied podiatry. Barry has four children, all of whom have strong Zionistic beliefs. Three of his children now live in Israel, two have made aliyah. Barry is an active member of the Manchester Great, New and Central Synagogue.

Michael Rainsbury is the Head of Adult Education at the London School of Jewish Studies and a Sacks Scholar. He created the first dedicated English language tours of the Israeli President’s Residence in Jerusalem and leads Jewish heritage tours with JRoots.

Sonti is the founder of ShulMates, a network for Jewish millennials. She is also one of the 2023 Limmud Microgrant recipients. When not connecting Jews, she is London-based school teacher. Her work is often inspired by Jewish mystical tradition, having spent considerable time in Eastern Europe and as an alumna of University College London's Hebrew and Jewish Studies Department.

Alma Reisel |

Alma is a family therapist in the NHS, a former social worker and offers private couples and individual therapy and social work supervision. She has been coming to Limmud all her life and loves it. Alma was a founding trustee of KeshetUK and is interested in therapeutic work that creates a more just world.

Helen Ressler |

Helen Ressler teaches middle-school Jewish Studies at a Reform Jewish day school near Boston, MA. She spent three years studying at Pardes Institute for Jewish Studies in Jerusalem as part of cohort 18 of the Pardes Educators Programme. Helen holds a MDiv in Pastoral Care from Vanderbilt Divinity School and a BA in Astronomy and History from Wellesley College.

Having worked in law, intellectual property and security Sam is now head librarian at London School of Jewish Studies. Sam met her husband of twenty years at Limmud but, despite that, continues to attend Limmud events faithfully. With interests in incunabula, writing and literature, Sam is a bibliophile on a mission to share her love of books.

Eitan Richards has been an avid Limmud-goer for 5 years now. He has always wanted to run a session but couldn't quite find his niche until recently. He is a chemistry undergraduate student at Bath University and loves mixing his passions with his Judaism.

Yvonne is a retired special needs teacher and member of New North London Masorti Synagogue (NNLS). She enjoys teaching Hebrew and is a Chai Cancer Care volunteer. Two years ago, Yvonne set up a carers' support group at NNLS with a friend, to support members of their community caring for relatives. She enjoys baking and swimming, and this is her 15th Limmud!

Marcus is the founder/director of JTrails, creating Jewish Heritage and Holocaust trails in the UK, the Channel Islands and NW France and works with communities and conserves Jewish heritage. JTrails is the UK leg of the official ‘European Route of Jewish Heritage’ and a partner with the Oxford University 'Jewish Country House Project'.

Yael is director of Community and Adult Education at Westminster Synagogue. She is also a teacher of Chassidut, a community organiser and a visual artist. She has a BA from Yeshiva University and an MA from Camberwell College. She is a coffee addict and an avid cyclist.

Ruti and husband Nahshon live in Ilford, Essex. Their children and grandchildren mostly live on Bnei Akiva kibbutzim. Ruti enjoys learning and teaching Hebrew to adults and runs weekly Jewish, gardening and reminiscence activities in two Jewish residential homes.

Jeremy is a partner at COMSYS, a satellite communications consulting firm providing technical and commercial/market advisory services to clients in Africa, the Middle East and Asia/Pacific region. He has been travelling in these regions for many years and has many interesting stories related to Jewish observance when on the road.

Talli Yehuda Rosenbaum is an individual and couple therapist and certified sex therapist and supervisor. She co-hosts the 'Intimate Judaism' podcast and is co-author of the book, 'I am For My Beloved: A Guide to Enhanced Intimacy for Married Couples'.

Phil is a senior director at the public policy agency, Fleetwood Strategy. He is the Deputy for Brondesbury Park United Synagogue on the the Board of Deputies of British Jews and a member of the World Jewish Congress’s Jewish Diplomatic Corps. Phil previously served as a Labour councillor in Camden and as executive director of the Faiths Forum for London.

Shmuel was born in Tel Aviv into a Chassidic family. He holds a BA in Jewish Philosophy from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem and an MA in Talmud from Bar Ilan University. Shmuel has served as a community rabbi in Israel, Poland and New York City, in addition to being a practising cognitive behavioural therapist.

Adam is the executive director of Limmud and previously held leadership roles in both global programming and development at Moishe House. Adam spends his spare time gardening, cooking and, whenever he can, playing on the beach. He has a degree in philosophy and Hebrew, and lives in London with his wife Becky and their two children.

Eli started his medical pathway working for the Magen David Adom ambulance service in Israel in 2008, before locating to the UK in 2015. Here, he joined the voluntary Hatzolah ambulance service in London, gaining valuable experience in the field, and pursued his studies formally to become a registered paramedic in 2022.

Agnès is a French psychiatrist. She has been interested in many kind of psychotherapies throughout her career, and worked with all ages in several institutions. She now works in a medical practice. Agnès is an active member of Kehilat Kedem, a liberal synagogue in Montpellier, and is now developing a card game to help people discover mindfulness in a easy and playful way.

Naomi Rowe (they/them) is a practising music therapist, Access consultant and drag queen. Based in Birmingham, they are a member of Kol Kinor and Birmingham Progressive Synagogue Choir. They are a published author on the topics on intersectionality and music therapy for the neuroqueer population.

Gabriel is an entrepreneur whose career has included stints as an economics journalist, a local politician and a hedge fund investor. In 2023 he founded a climate startup, building compliance tools for carbon border taxes. Gabriel was born in 1980. Since that time, the amount of carbon dioxide in the Earth's atmosphere has increased by 25%.
